WOW.. what an awesome day so far!!! Went on a looooong walk to Encuentro, took a motoconcho from there to Cabarete where I tried out Audrey's "Blossom Fit LIfe" aquafit class ;) She is great and an awesome instructor who knows what she is doing... I highly recommend anyone who is visiting Cabarete or living here to take her classes!!! THANKS AUDREY!
Hahahaha.....it was so much fun! I was the youngest woman there, the rest were snowbirds from all over, most chatted away in French and I floundered like a beached walrus trying to keep up to them. ALL AGES enjoy these classes and every class is drop-in, so you can even swing by last minute to join & have some fitness fun!!!
Honestly, I would never have done the whole workout at home, but there was no way I was going to wimp out with these older gals kicking my butt!!! I will definitely go again! Just once a week for now, too many other changes going on right now to do more. Check out Audrey's website below for more information on private, semi-private and group classes for aqua-fit, yoga, paddle-boarding lessons, personal coaching and more! Great deals on packages of 10 classes too....

As I mentioned in a previous post, I'm in the middle of getting my 45-year old life sorted out and getting back into shape after being dragged over the coals by my bodybuilding brother who came to visit. Harsh words, tough love but good advice ;) So the past week I've been working hard making the small daily changes in routine, attitude, eating habits. My best achievement was fast-walking from my house ALL the way to my favorite beach the other afternoon.
Not just part way and then jumping on the first motococho that stopped and offered me a ride. I don't hitchhike but I have no qualms about catching a motorbike ride the rest of the way to the beach when the sun is baking. This week I called out 'no thanks' to everyone who slowed down to offer me a ride. *PS: I always will pick riding on a motorbike with a guy carrying a machete rather than cramming in a car with a bunch of people. At least I have great airflow on the motorbike...lolll ;)
It felt great to achieve some of my goals and although this was only a couple of miles to walk, it was a nice little workout to get the my blood flowing. I can always create artwork better after I tire myself out physically. I think its because I get all proud of myself...hahahahha :) I realize there are certain things I can't let slip, but I will trade off other things to get the time I need to reach my fitness goals! I guess it boils down to how bad do I want this ;) I thought of posting before and after pictures of myself, but I don't want to lose my regular followers... lollll ;)
MY CURRENT LIST OF FITNESS GOALS:
"Everyone must choose one of two pains: The pain of discipline or the pain of regret"
Well, my brother left for Canada today and I hate to admit it but I'm gonna miss the big goof! He gave me a few tough lectures, dragged me over the coals and then declared that he decided I had to try things his way now. It doesn't matter if I'm in pain or feeling rough, I need to drag my butt to the gym and at least enjoy the pain of accomplishment and being fit and in shape again. He is still into bodybuilding and going to the gym, so he knows what he is talking about. For a while, we even used to work out at the same gym back in Canada. (We did not often go to the gym together as the name calling made the casual gym members think he was the meanest trainer ever...hahahaha )
It has really been a tough two and a half years for me health-wise and my fitness level and body shape have taken a big toll! I would rather feel comfortable in a bathing suit again and have constant pain, then to feel like a whale and afraid someone is going to harpoon me when I'm out in the ocean ;) Even if others say I look good (for my age) and my hubby loves me just the way I am, I need to do this for myself. I want to feel happy and confident about my looks again. My brain needs a ton of rewiring & work too, but that is the usual for 45 year old women who are going through menopause...hahahahaha ;)
In conclusion, I finally found that determination I used to have to drive myself to do stuff even if every part of me protests. Besides, my brother is moving back here for 8 months out of the year, and I have to be in good shape because he has no mercy when he is coaching me at the gym ;)
Peace Out All... hope you all have or find the strength to accomplish your goals too!!
I have come to the conclusion that JUST collecting Pinterest fitness & exercise pins isn't going to do the trick ;) I actually have to DO them...hahahaha :)
Here are a few more good ideas, I'm trying some of them out today, so here goes!!!
